Arthur sat down holding his phone to his face as he continue pressing it, the only time he drop it is when Lucy has come out putting on the dresses, he seems not to find the one he want yet as he keep waving off the dresses while she keep changing getting tired of this she came out in a yellow dinner gown with a smile to show her satisfaction on the dress but he waved it off, she frowned and came back in a long blue tight gown with a blue stiletto heel, Arthur almost burst out laughing as he held his mouth with his palm. He wonder if she could walk with the heels. She frowned as he wave it off and paced in.
Few minutes later while Arthur was still busy on the phone, she came out dressed in a short sleeveless white gown with a white wedge to go, her ponytail loosed and neatly styled and held in a white hair band, her small silver earring dazzling in the light and she smiled, this time it seems genuine, she seems to be comfortable and she could see it on his face, she's not going in to change again.
Arthur slowly stood up as he put her phone back in her pocket. He walked up to her still fixing his gaze on her
"Nice dress you've got " he said and bend over to her shoulder. Lucy was confused as she stood still, she became stiff as different thought started racing through her mind. Arthur keeps bending over slowly
"Is he going to kiss me? " she thought as her breathe ceased
Arthur stopped and whispered "you are beautiful"
Lucy sighed and shut her eyes with her palms on her face, she can't imagine what she's been thinking, she should have know earlier that she's nothing but a sister to him, she's sure that's the way he's always picture her so nothing of such will never happen but did she want it to happen?"
"Were you scared?" Arthur laughed
"You useless thing" she punched him on his chest
"Can I go change this now?" She asked
"No, not yet. remaining one thing to complete"
"And what's that again?" She asked confused
."wait a minute, I'll soon be back " he said as he left in haste, only God knows what he's up to, Lucy sighed as she walked up to have a seat, actually at where Arthur was sitting before but she collided with someone who seems not to be watching his way but engrossed in pressing his phone
"Oh what the hell is the meaning of that? How dare you fall my phone, do you have any idea of how much it cost and where it was bought from? When did this boutique started taking in both human beings and animals" he kept ranting and didn't notice the arrival of Arthur,
"Animal?" The word hit her as she was forced to speak out.
"You don't call me an animal man, moreover I don't think I'm the one at fault here next time you watch your way okay?" She fired back and this got the man angry as he raised his hand to deal with her but Arthur got hold of the hand from behind and twisted it backward, the pain got the man falling on his knees as he let out a cry and pleaded
Arthur still holding on to the hand, bend down and making an eye contact, he warned;
"next time you don't disrespect and rant anyhow at people, not with my girl okay?"
"Okay" the man nodded back in agreement and he let go of him, took Lucy's hand hand o walk out.
The drive to the party was a silent one. Arthur has made her known that they'll be attending the party together, though she was not interested in going but he made her known that the rules is to come in two, with a date
"And you think you can just use me like that? As your date?"
"Oh come on, it's just a party, and since I have nobody. I was trying to let you know and invite you earlier in the morning but mummy cut into our conversation and we've not get time to talk since then"
"Whatever" she waved it off "but remember I'm not the party type"
Arthur laughed "oh damn! How did I forget I'm dealing with an under eighteen here" he teased and Lucy hit him on his chest
"Don't be silly" she snorted
The drive finally came to a stop as Arthur alighted from the car and walked up to get the door open for the Pretty Princess Lucy.
"Hey Arthur" he heard his name being called from behind as they entered the hall, It's big and splendiferously decorated. Lucy looked confused, feeling odd around the people, there seems to be something she's not getting yet
"Hey Lucy, you look so beautiful" she heard and turned to where the voice came from.
"Oh, Ellen" she called surprisingly
"What are you doing here?" Lucy asked
"Doing here?, don't tell me you don't know it's Caleb birthday" she frowned
"Oh really?" She turned to Arthur who seems to be expecting someone's arrival, no wonder she was feeling odd, she's in the midst of almost all her former classmates
"You didn't tell her?" Ellen asked him
"Humm, sorry I didn't get time to " he apologized
"Hey man!" Caleb called as he approached them, they got into a cultured handshake as they hit their wrist together too. Arthur and Caleb are school best friend, they are fond of moving together and they spend their leisure time together too both significantly or not.
"Wow! See who we got here. Gorgeous Lucy " Caleb said as he took her hand and kissed it
"Thanks for coming guys"
"We hope we're not late " Arthur asked
"Not really " Ellen replied
"Yeah, just about starting " Caleb added as he held her closer. Ellen is Caleb girlfriend and this explain why Ellen and Lucy get to be close too.
Lucy is a quiet type and not really friend keeping but she doesn't have issue with any of her classmates except these two stalkers, Joyce and rose. I call them stalkers cause of the way they do disturb Lucy's life in school and these started all because of Arthur. Joyce prove to be in love with Arthur and she tried getting his attention but failed at every bit, getting notice of the closeness between Arthur and Lucy, she tried getting back at her with the mindset that she's the reason she couldn't get Arthur to love her.
Few minutes later, The party has kicked off and was going on well when Lucy excused herself, she told Arthur she'll like to make use of the ladies and went out, unknown to her, Joyce and rose had seen her and had been stalking on her. They followed her as she made her way to the rest room.
