Falling Chapter 9

 Chapter 9

"Hey Mom" Lucy called as she entered her mom's flower shop, Doris is actually a florist.
"Lucy!" Joy, Doris' assistant and sales rep screamed as she hugged Lucy
"It's been a long time" she added smiling broadly
"Yeah" Lucy nodded "exams stuff" she arched a brow
"Nice" she simply added as they walked down the aisle and leave themselves to admire the beautiful flowers.
"I've missed them" Lucy said absentmindedly
"Yeah" Joy simply nodded as she bit her lip.
She watched Lucy staring at the flowers, she looks weird, sounds odd and is acting different. This is not the jovial Lucy she'd known, though Lucy might be a shy type but with Joy, she'd always be opened and fun. Joy had been working for Doris for five years now and whenever anytime like this come, they'd glue and gist together, laugh and sometimes hang out after work. 'Something must have been wrong somewhere' she thought
"And I've missed you too" she spun her head to face her as she smiled
"Oh my God! You've almost scare me off" Joy breathe out
"What?"
"You were looking weird and different, almost sad just now" she clamored while Lucy laughed
"Hey, Lucy" she could hear her Mom called from behind and slowly she turned towards her and facing her she intentionally jerked back, almost jumping as she wave her hand
"Hey Mom" she grinned
"What's the time?" Doris asked disciplinary and Lucy checked her wristwatch.
She frowned and said "Thirty minutes past nine. But I've been here for over twenty minutes, haven't I?" She asked facing Joy who nodded in affirmative.
"And is that your nine o clock?"
"I'm sorryyyy" she quickly added jokingly and followed her as she headed to her office.
"Coming back" she whispered at Joy.
"Why have you send a message to your daughter instead of call, too formal. And you scheduled time for her to meet you in your office reminding her never to be late. More formal" Lucy rapped as she sat down on the sofa beside Doris.
"Why do I have to call to disturb my lazy daughter by eight in the morning when I know she's still busy burying her lazy body under her blanket and snoring, too considerate. And why wouldn't I have schedule time for her when I know she would have spent almost an hour doing what only God knows in the bathroom. More considerate" she grinned
"Ouch!" Lucy winced and she laughed which made her laugh too. Just then she found out she'd missed her Mom.
"Guess what?" Lucy asked smiling
Doris rolled her eyes, with her forefinger on her chin she tried to think but not getting it, she frowned
"What?"
"I'm coming home"
"Really?" She asked in disbelief
"Yeah" she nodded still smiling
"Did anything happen?" She asked again and Lucy for once wondered if it's a crime to decide to come home.
"No, nothing really. It's just my decision to come spend time with you and asides I miss you or didn't you miss me?"
"Of course I do" her face softened
"Just wonder why you've made such sudden decision and couldn't tell both of us publicly just yesterday we were together"
Lucy laughed and said "being a cop would have fit you"
"You can say that again" Doris laughed as she open her PC
"So tell me, why have you give me a sudden call on overhere?" Lucy asked
Doris brought out her glasses and put it on while she ran her fingers through her keyboard
"Sincerely, I want to have time with you" she smiled
"Which shows how much you've missed me" Lucy added
"Yeah and" Doris nodded and stopped typing, she removed her glasses and faced Lucy
"We need to talk".
