Linda made some touch on her mouth with the napkin after dropping her fork. Obviously, they are all in an eatery, Having their lunch.
"Okay guys, let's get to the next stage" she said as she wiped her hands with the napkin
"Next stage?" Doris asked
"What next stage?" Lucy added
"We're going out remember?" She asked rhetorically
"And none of you ever ask where we're going to?"
"So, where are we going to now?" Arthur asked
"We're going to the beach!" She announced gladly
"Beach?" They chorused, all staring at her as if she's performing magic
"Yeah, Beach. Got any problem with that?" She frowned
"Yeah" Linda replied
"You didn't tell us beforehand and we're not prepared for it"
"prepared to go to beach?" Linda asked almost laughing, she knows Doris favourite place when outing is mentioned.so she can't deny going. infact she chose to surprise then with the beach outing because of her
"Well, I mean the wears needed" she mumbled
"Well, I got that already" Linda replied
"Really?" Doris asked
"Yeah" she winked
"You wouldn't cease surprising someone" Lucy smiled
"Mom" Arthur called as if he'd not been following their discussion
"Yes dear"
"Can we go now?, I need to go somewhere by...."
"The birthday party?" She cuts in
"Only God knows what it is about" she rolled her eyes
"Yeah, that reminds me. I'm taking my car out too" he added
"Are you perfect in driving it yet?" Lucy asked
"Yes, sure" he replied affirmatively
"And how sure are you about that?" Doris asked
"100% sure" he replied
"Then you'll prove it to us by driving us to our destination, only then will you be able to take your car tonight" Linda said as she stood up
"Deal?" She added and Arthur stood up too
"Deal" he replied
"Drama Artistes" Doris laughed as she stood up too while Lucy joined smiling and they all went out
"Done?" Arthur asked as he parked the car
"Done" Lucy grinned
"Nothing is done here. You didn't park it well" Linda replied stubbornly
"The deal is to drive well not park well" He snorted
"Linda?" Doris called
"Okay okay, I'm giving it to him now" she said as she extend the key to him
"Stubborn!" Arthur murmured as he alight from the car
Few minutes later...
Linda and Doris are seen laughing and gisting as they sat together.
"Can you remember now?" Linda asked still engrossed in the excitement
"Oh yeah, that's true" Doris laughed resting her palm on her face
"Those guys are really funny" she added
"And Chris..." She paused as the both expression's changed
"I'm sorry " Linda added sadly
"Oh, stop it. Not again, let's be happy, at least for now. We deserve that" She smiled
"Yeah" she smiled as a tear drop from her eye
"Lest I forget, are you hearing from Fred?" She asked
"Yeah, he told me about the money you sent to him two days ago now and I thought you just sent one last week too" Doris replied
"Yeah, but I think he'll need money for some things since They just resumed few weeks ago.
"But you've sent her the school fees which is the necessity so I think if there's any other thing he need he'll let us know"
"Oh come on Doris, why are you talking as if you don't know about all these school stuffs, let's call a spade a spade, we shouldn't let him be telling us before we know what to do. moreover, i know Fred well , he's not that type of child. I'm sure he knows what he's doing okay?"
"Okay Miss" Doris teased
"Hey come back here" Lucy screamed as she ran after Arthur with a handful of mud, Arthur has thrown her mud while she was not paying attention and she's trying to get back at him
"Catch me if you can" He grinned as he ran towards the sea while Lucy followed.
"They look good together, didn't they?" Linda asked while Doris nodded
" I do wish they could be together forever" she added
"And you think that can happen?" Doris asked out of surprise, almost screaming
Linda was short of words, she sighed and shook her head.
"I pray it do"
