Chapter 17
Arthur and Lucy were seated facing each other and on their table were two bottles of water and cups beside each but they were too serious and engrossed in their discussion to notice that.
"What's the matter Arthur?" Lucy asked noticing Arthur's worried and sad expression
"You said you have something important to discuss with me"
"Yeah" Arthur blurted out
"I'll be leaving soon" he added
"Leaving? to where?" She asked confused
Arthur rubbed his palm together and with his head bowed he said
"My Dad want me to study in Oxford"
"Why? But Mom told me there's already an agreement that we're joining Fred in Cambridge" Lucy said but as she finished her statement she sighted someone beside Arthur's car outside. The way the person is dressed will obviously give any common person the hint that he's up to something as he's dressed in black suit and putting on shades with a telecom system on his left ear, seems he's communicating with someone as he checked Arthur car's body and the number
"Yeah but this idea was brought up by my Dad and uncle which Mom can't...."
"Do you come with someone?" Lucy quickly cuts in
"No, why do you ask?" Arthur asked as his gaze was diverted to his car which he noticed Lucy to having been staring at
"Nothing" she smiled as she turned to Arthur
"Maybe some passerby" she added but it doesn't seems to be a passerby as she feel they're being watched.
Just then she looked out again and caught another person staring at them from behind, Lucy now looked scared, she could feel something is wrong as this person is also dressed like the one earlier and he held to the system in his ear again
"What's wrong Lucy?" Arthur asked noticing her strange acts and the fear on her face
"Nothing" she quickly replied and Arthur checked out again but couldn't find anything
"Are you sure?" He asked taking her hand in his and she nodded with a smile, a smile full of fear. Lucy knew she's in trouble as she'd been warned enough by her Mom not to go out. She wondered if there's anybody they offended who wants to retaliate and for the fact the fact that they're stalking them using Arthur's car, she wondered if he's also a victim
"Arthur?" She called and was about starting the question when a call came on her phone. She brought the phone out and checked the caller who happened to be her Mom. She must have get home and couldn't find her around. she didn't want to pick it but as she looked outside again she knew the best thing is just to pick the call
"H...hello Mom" she stuttered
"Hey where are you?"
"I'm outside Mom. With Arthur" she confessed
"Oh my goodness!" She shrieked
"Didn't I warn you no to go out?"
"I'm sorry Mom" she sob
"Where exactly are you now?" She asked picking up her car key
"Park in restaurant" she replied
"You know what? " she started anxiously
"Conceal yourself somewhere, maybe in the restroom or anywhere but don't go out of the restaurant, okay?" she instructed
"Okay" she nodded
"I'll soon be there with you" she said and hung up
"What's that Lucy?" Arthur asked confused
"Nothing" she replied as she stood up
"I want to use the restroom"
