Lucy rolled to the other side of her bed the next morning stretching and she stayed like that for some seconds before suddenly sitting up.
"Oh goodness! I woke up late" she said sighting the sunrise from the window. She rushed to grab her phone and swapped it on.
"Oh 10' o clock. This is shit! Double shit!" She snapped jumping down from the bed, she slipped into her footwear and rushed out of her room.
Iris was alone in the living room, she sat on the couch with her face bent on her phone while the TV was on.
"Hey, morning Iris" Lucy called as she entered and sighted her.
Iris' head tilted up to her and she smiled "Hey Lucy. Morning, how was your night?"
"Cool, where are others?" She asked restlessly. She had gone to check Fred in his room and couldn't find him nor Carl
"They went to the grocery store" she replied
"What's wrong?" She asked realizing Lucy's worrisome look
"I'm supposed to wake up earlier this morning cause we have an important issue to discuss" Lucy said and was about sitting beside Iris when her stomach rumbled
"You're hungry?" Iris guessed but she didn't reply, instead she frowned and was busy biting her lower lip which is her habit when she's worried and angry.
Iris laughed and said "You're going to develop wrinkles if you keep your face like that whole day"
"Who cares?" Lucy snapped with a straight face and Iris sighed
"I know you're angry but that stomach of yours is so hungry now so take care of it first" Iris said when her stomach rumbled again.
Lucy sighed and stood up, she's really hungry though but Iris doesn't seem to understand what's mostly wrong with her now. Does that mean her idea is gone like that now? I mean Fred said they'd continue 'if' she'd wake up early which she didn't now.
"They'll soon be back Lucy" Iris said as if reading her thought and she sighed again and turned to go in.
"You should come and take something for your stomach first, there's toast and tea for breakfast" Iris called after her and she stopped
"I thought we have nothing yet" she winced and turned back
"Nope. Fred bought them together yesterday" she replied and nudged at the dining table
"Yours is on the table, I did not think of waking you up cause I thought you'd be tired of yesterday's trip" she said as Lucy walked up to the dining room and took her plate of toast and the cup of tea, she never liked eating on the dining table alone.
"Thanks" she muttered approaching Iris with her breakfast. Though she said the 'thanks' for not waking her up but inwardly she wished she'd done that. She dropped the breakfast on a stool she'd pulled before her and started eating.
"So what's the important issue you're supposed to discuss this morning?" Iris asked
"It's about Mom" Lucy said mouthfully
"Your Mom?" She asked and Lucy nodded
"I'm sure everything's alright"
"Yeah" she said and faced her
"Think of it, isn't it reasonable if we get the whole stories pertaining this issue from Mom?" She paused and when she was about continuing, Iris' face widened as if remembering something
"Oh that reminds me, sorry" she winced
"What's that?"
"Fred left a message for you"
"A message?" Lucy suddenly asked dropping the tea cup in her hand
"Yeah"
"What message?" She asked restlessly
"She said you can go on with the plan and call Mom but make sure you're being careful especially during conversation"
"Don't spill it" she said slowly and lowly with her hands writing something in the air
"Oh really?" She exclaiming beaming happily and Iris smiled and nodded
"But I guess it'd been better you don't call cause of code number"
"Wait. He told you about our discussion?"
"Hmm... Sort of. We talked about some things this morning before they left"
"Ouch! My bad! And I was busy sleeping" Lucy winced and Iris laughed
"It's okay babe, we can talk about that later but I guess its better to talk to Mom now first"
"Yeah" she snapped her finger and instantly stood up and went to her room then came back with her milky laptop
"She sent me a message yesterday" she said as she sat back on the couch
"Really?" Iris asked sitting up
"Yeah, but I didn't check or reply it" she explained
"Good" Iris breathed as if that's the last thing she'd expect her to do
"Good you didn't check it out at that moment"
Lucy nodded and booted her laptop, the thought of Arthur flashed her mind again as she waited for the system to start but she quickly pulled it at the back of her mind and input her password then started to work on it.
"She must have call your number severally" Iris' voice brought her back to realization that she was still there
"I guess so and the line wouldn't be going through cause I didn't even bring it with me" Lucy replied
"Then you must find a good excuse for that, and Fred's" she said and Lucy nodded and was facing her laptop again. The sound and dropping of many and different messages that took almost two minutes made her paused and dumbfounded.
"What's that?" Iris asked confusedly as she draw up to her
"It's Mom's messages" she replied still eye-widened
"Shit! She must be worried" Iris said worriedly
"You need to reply her fast" she said and Lucy nodded and viewed the messages.

Lucy's face widened at the last text she read and she sighed, enough of this text reading, her Mom is really impatient, dramatic and pathetic.
"I mean who's kidnapping me?" She scowled
"What?" Iris' face rise from her phone
"She think I was kidnapped" Lucy explained and Iris laughed
"That's Mom for you, super worried"
"Yeah" Lucy muttered and just scroll down the rest of the messages, she can't bear reading them again, who knows what she might have assumed and texted again.
"You should reply her quickly before she gave up out of worries" Iris advised and she just nodded and started to reply
*Hello Mom, how are you?* she typed and just as expected she's online and really close to her phone to reply in a second
*oh my God, Lucy. Is that you?*
*yes mom*
*where have you been? Oh my God! You freaked the hell out of me, I've been calling you since yesterday now but your line was not reachable, so also Fred*
*we were robbed Mom* Lucy lied knowing that will be the best and easiest way to end this drama between her and her Mom and go straight to why she need to talk to her now.
*robbed?!!! Oh goodness. Are you hurt? Hope nothing happen to you. Were you able to escape? Are you alright? What about Fred?*
*we're okay Mom, just our phones were robbed not our body*

"Fuck it!" She snapped as she pulled the laptop to close
"What's that?" Iris" asked confused
